Hailyn Kennard is a cosmetologist splitting her Time living in Ethiopia and Las Vegas, where She does modeling and television work.
She was born in Ethiopia and adopted to America at the age of 7 with 5 other Ethiopians including her biological sister. Her footprints took them to Heber City Utah where they were raised
Her parents started a charitable foundation for Ethiopians and after their adoption, took them back to see their families. She grew to love doing humanitarian work and knew She wanted to always go back to Ethiopia. There are a lot of Ethiopians in America who are a raised as 3rd culture. Her being adopted, there were times She felt out of place in America.
She strongly believe that it’s important to let others know that no one can take Ethiopia out of her , no matter where you are raised.
Her platform is to help others who have been adopted or just don’t have the connection back to their roots to not have the emptiness that She had. She has created a charitable organization called “footprints." with her organization. She said : I want to help others find their footprints back to Ethiopia. Everyone leaves a footprint behind. Each of our prints has its own definition with unique stories. No matter what trials we have faced in life, we can stay positive and overcome them.
We can LEAD and LEAVE footprints that have a positive outcome. The children I work with at schools and in the villages of Ethiopia have footprints that have taken them through trials and abuse. The same abuses that I have also endured in my life.
